The South Sinai Association for Diving and Marine Activities
is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by a group of diving
and marine activity pioneers in South Sinai, Egypt.
The need for an entity representing the diving and
marine operations as well as the professionals working in the Red Sea
area of South Sinai became essential with the fast growing development
of the area. In 1998, the "Sharm Diving Union" was founded.
The work & the effort done by the founders of the Union can't be described
as anything less than remarkable.
The Union successfully established many communication links with all official
departments concerned with diving and marine activities.
The participation by the technical committee of the
ministry of Tourism formulating all the rules and regulations governing
the businesses was a direct result of this success.
The Union played a successful practical role with the cooperation of
the Ras Mohammad National Park in protecting the environment.
The dive sites moorings and the campaign of the Crown of Thorns collection
were two of many projects motivated, and sponsored by the Sharm Diving
Union.
